7 Habits of Super Productive People

Some people always seem to be “on”. They’re always working and turning out amazing projects. They seem to be fitting in more work in the same hour than others could possible imagine! How are they using their time so efficiently?

The truth is, many super productive people have great habits which help them manage their time and energy efficiently. Let’s look at 7 of these habits now.

1. Use The 80/20 Rule

This rule refers to the common saying that 80 percent of work will be done by 20 percent of your effort. Put simply, most of your progress will come from a fraction of your productive time. Therefore, plan to do the hardest tasks when you have the greatest amount of energy or focus.

2. Hope For The Best, Plan For The Worst

When planning your day, make time and space for the worst possible scenario to ensure that, even if things go wrong, you can still accomplish what you set out to do. If things go well, you’ve got extra free time.

3. Come Up With A Distractions File

Make a file on your computer or in your notebook and write down distracting thoughts to get them out of your system. Then, return to your work with your mind empty of that distraction. You can always get back to it later if you need.

4. Learn Shortcuts And Routines

No matter what you’re doing, be efficient at it. It could be as simple as learning keyboard hotkeys or taking the quickest way to work. Reduce the time you spend performing mundane tasks or organizational work to create more time for the important stuff.

5. Prioritize Tasks – Keep Your Priorities Straight

Do the most important work when you’re at your most productive state. Also, make sure you never sacrifice the most important tasks of the day in favor of the things that don’t matter in the long run or most immediately.

6. Stop Multitasking

Multitasking isn’t as productive as some people think. The brain can really only focus on one thing at a time, so accept this and focus all of your effort on whatever it is you’re doing at the moment. Plus, ensuring that what you do is performed correctly and without mistake means you don’t have to go back and fix anything later.

7. Remember To Take Breaks

Finally, don’t overwork yourself since you might burn out. A productive day can end early, but if you never take a break and overstress yourself, you might be too exhausted to enjoy the rest of the evening. Measured, consistent, high-quality work is the key to success, so remember to recharge every now and then.

Conclusion

Super productive people have learned how to be effective at getting results. The key is to be willing to learn how you can be most productive. Follow these guidelines and continue to learn about productivity as you go about your business. As you do, you’ll begin seeing a difference in your production.
